Barbara is excited to return to the work of William Finn to complete the hat-trick, having starred in the original Toronto casts of Falsettos (Tarragon Theatre) and Elegies (Acting Up Stage). Selected credits include: Lady Bracknell in Earnest, an original operetta, Mama Rose in Gypsy, Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown (Jessie Award nomination), Maria Callas in Master Class, Golde in Fiddler On The Roof (Stratford Festival), Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard (Livent), Charlotte in Larry’s Party (CanStage, NAC, MTC), and Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. She has received six Dora Award nominations for Closer Than Ever, Forbidden Broadway, Chutzpah a GoGo, Snappy Tales and Assassins. She co-produced with her husband Marek Norman, the original Canadian production of Assassins which garnered five Dora Awards. She was a member of the legendary Second City Company and co-founder of Reprise Concerts, great musicals in concert.

Thom is delighted to return to Acting Up Stage after his Dora-nominated performance in Elegies: A Song Cycle. Actor, singer and cabaret artist, Thom Allison has performed from Central America to Europe. Juan Chioran received a 2004 Dora Mavor Moore Award for his outstanding performance in Mirvish’s The Producers. He also received a Gemini Award in 2000 for his performance in Dracula. Theatre credits include: Hamlet, As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Man of La Mancha (Stratford Festival); Cymbeline, The Three Musketeers, Hecuba (Chicago Shakespeare); It’s A Wonderful Life, Much Ado About Nothing, Goodnight Desdemona Good Morning Juliet (The Canadian Stage Company); Blithe Spirit, An Ideal Husband (Citadel); Love’s Labour’s Lost (NAC); Present Laughter, The Play About The Baby (Soulpepper), Anything That Moves (Tarragon); and  Kiss of the Spiderwoman (Broadway/First National – Ovation, Carbonell, and Jeff Awards). Parris is delighted to be making his Acting Up Stage debut with A New Brain, and is thrilled to be working with such a talented group of people. Parris is a recent graduate of the Randolph Academy, and is happy to be performing back in Toronto. Some favorite past roles include: Michele in Having Hope at Home and The Detective in Out of Order (Upper Canada Playhouse) The Narrator and Eddie in The Rocky Horror Show, Aarvid in Don't Hug Me, and Pierre in The Oh Canada, Eh? Dinner Show (Canadiana Productions) , Ching Ho in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Juror #8 in The Twelve (Randolph Academy) as well as productions of Brigadoon (Tommy), Godspell (Jesus), and Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat (Simian). Most recently, Parris appeared onstage as the King in Sleeping Beauty at Casa Loma. Parris would like to dedicate this performance to his family whose love and support allow him to pursue his dreams.

Since graduation from Sheridan College's prestigious musical theatre performance program a year and a half ago, Allie Hughes has been pretty busy. Allie was most recently seen as a top ten finalist in CBC's How Do You Solve  A Problem Like Maria.  Other television and film (Instant Star/CTV), (Being Erica/CBC), (The Rocker/Fox Atomic).  In March Allie will be part of the original cast of the new Andrew Lloyd Webber/ Ben Elton musical The Boys In The Photograph premiering at the Manitoba Theatre Center.  Other theatre credits (Anyone Can Whistle/TIFT).  Allie Hughes is a singer/songwriter- check out her music at www.myspace.com/alliehughes

Jonathan is thrilled to be making his Toronto theatre debut with Acting Up Stage, surrounded by such inspiring talents, and in one of his favourite musicals to boot!  A graduate of The University of Western Ontario (and Londoner at heart!), Jonathan is currently completing his final year of Music Theatre Performance at Sheridan College .  Favourite credits include Emcee in Cabaret, Sweeney in Sweeney Todd (Theatre Western); Bernard in Arcadia (UWO); Smudge in Forever Plaid (PSFT); Miss Saigon (Drayton); and Urinetown (Theatre Sheridan).  Love and thanks to his parents, his brothers at 803, and the Amabile Choirs of London, who taught him the meaning of Heart and Music.  This one’s for Matt.

Paula Wolfson is a Dora Award winner (Shaking the Foundations, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre) with a 28 year career in professional theatre. Patricia is thrilled to finally be working with Acting Up Stage! Recent credits include Variations on a Nervous Breakdown (Talk Is Free), and Audrey in  Little Shop of Horrors (Canadian Stage) for which she received a Dora nomination.  Other theatre credits include Little Becky in Urinetown (Canadian Stage), Cathy in The Last Five Years (MTC), Brooke/Vicki  in Noises Off (ATF – Robert E Merritt award) , Ophelia in Hamlet, Curley’s Wife in Of Mice and Men, Frankie in The Member of The Wedding (Neptune Theatre) This Spring, Patricia will be heading to Edmonton to play Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Mayfield Theatre.  Patricia played Susan on Global’s The Jane Show for two seasons and has many other tv/film credits including The Rick Mercer Report, Lexx, The Chris Isaak Show, Regenesis, This is Wonderland, Wonderfalls, Blue Murder, Angela’s Eyes, New Waterford Girl, Touch and Go, and Saint Roz.  Patricia recently recorded a cd of pop and musical theatre songs with pianist Patti Loach.(www.patriciazentilli.com) She also paints whimsical one of a kind paintings called “pattyzees” (www.pattyzee.com)
