Theatre Creators' Reserve

Theatre Creators’ Reserve is a program for individuals and collectives, with the purpose to assist theatre creators to develop new work. The program assists Ontario-based professional theatre creators, and informal collectives of creators, by funding them to create work. This is a third-party recommender program. Applications are made to and funding decisions are made by the theatre companies enrolled in the program.

Please refer to the Ontario Arts Council website for program & application guidelines.

Application Deadline: Monday, December 28, 2015, 5 p.m.

For any questions or concerns, please email Adam White, Associate Artistic Director at [email protected] or call (416) 927-7880 ext. 221.

Our Priorities

Priority would be given to works that use music to illuminate the human condition, where the music is integral to the emotional journey of the character and the storytelling. As well, as a collaborative art form with complex and intricate craft required for each discipline involved, preference is given to musical theatre works written by teams who each specialize in a particular area (e.g. book, music, lyrics) rather than a single artist who attempts all three components.

You must meet the eligibility criteria found in the Program Guidelines on the Ontario Arts Council website.

Grant Amounts

You may request an amount between $1,000-$3,000. If successful, you may receive less than you request.
